You Always Have A Choice
The other day I asked myself, “what makes a great Network Marketer?” And I saw a quote by Jim Rohn that goes like this…
“It is not what happens that determines the major part of your future. What happens, happens to us all. It is what you do about what happens that counts.”
…The Questions Is Are You Doing It?
It’s not what happens to you but how you handle the situation is what counts…
…how you handle situations will have an impact in your life, relationship, your wealth, health, just anything that you can think of.
I heard it from Zig Ziglar, and he said that most people would rather REACT to situations and not RESPOND. You want to train yourself to RESPOND to situation and not to REACT.
Easier Said Than Done Right?
About over a month ago I was involved in a car accident and thank god nobody got hurt. My family and I were on our way to go somewhere. As I approached the intersection, I was in the turn right lane and a few seconds later a guy behind me hit me. We pulled over to avoid blocking traffic and this guy was really upset. He was yelling at me in front of my wife that I shouldn’t have stop, etc. I had to stop because before making that right turn I saw traffic coming… plus there was a yield sign.
I’ve kept my cool and finally the police arrived. I told the police my side of the story and the other guy told his. The other guy got a citation and I didn’t.
I took my car to get it repaired and about a week later it was good as new. The moral of the story is that its better to respond to a situation and not react… you’ll only make things worst like that other guy.
When Things Don’t Go Your Way In Network Marketing
Bringing it closer to the business side, when a call does not go your way, one of your customer cancels, a new recruit quits…
I had to reflect on things I learned a LONG time ago, not to take things personally.
Which I know it can be hard, but if you can change your way of thinking, you will be in better shape.
If someone says no to you, it is not you that is saying no. They are saying no to your offer.
And if they feel like taking their anger on you, it’s really their problem, not yours.
Some people have a hard time dealing with angry people but if you train your mine to RESPOND, you start to realize that those people are not the kind of people you want to deal with… and life becomes so much easier.
Some will, some won’t, so what… NEXT!
Stop & Think! You Always Have A Choice
Here’s another quote I like to share with you from Tom Hopkins…
“I never see failure as failure but only as a learning experience…. and as the negative feedback I need to change course in my direction.”
There are lessons to be learned from if you look closer… and sometimes you have to look closer.
What are the alternative?
Get angry, beat yourself up? No matter what you do it doesn’t change nothing.
Remember you ALWAYS have a choice.
